Saint Timothy Icon
Saint Timothy was a trusted coworker of the Apostle Paul and an important leader in the earliest Christian communities. Acts 16 introduces him at Lystra as the son of a Jewish believer and a Greek father, well regarded by Christians in Lystra and Iconium. He then accompanied Paul in missionary work and appears in several New Testament letters. First and Second Timothy are addressed to him, and church tradition remembers him as bishop of Ephesus and a martyr.
