Saint Norbert of Xanten Icon
Saint Norbert of Xanten, born around 1075 and died in 1134, was a priest, reformer, and founder of the Premonstratensians, also called Norbertines. He gathered his first community at Prémontré in northern France; its members professed the Rule of Saint Augustine in 1121. Elected Archbishop of Magdeburg in 1126, Norbert worked for reform of the clergy and for reconciliation in a period of conflict between ecclesiastical and political powers.
White habit, monstrance, and olive branch
