Description

Eve — mother of all the living in the biblical story of creation

Genesis presents Eve as the first woman and “the mother of all the living.” Her story belongs to the Church’s reflection on human dignity, freedom, temptation, and the wound of sin. Christian tradition does not stop at the Fall: it reads God’s promise of victory over the serpent in the light of Christ and often contrasts Eve’s disobedience with the Virgin Mary’s faithful consent as the New Eve.

Iconography and theological meaning

Eve holds a scroll, signifying the divine command, human responsibility, and the wisdom learned through the biblical account. Her dignified frontal pose keeps the image from reducing her to the moment of transgression. The halo and gold-toned field present humanity’s first mother within the wider history of salvation and the hope of restoration in Christ.

For prayer and Christian devotion

This icon supports meditation on creation, marriage, motherhood, moral freedom, and the need for redemption. It is especially meaningful for Scripture study and prayer for women, mothers, and families seeking healing from patterns of sin and a renewed life in Christ.

Crafted on linden wood in Poland

The image is printed directly on a double-primed linden wood panel and finished with decorative gold-tone schlagmetal. Made to order in Poland, it includes a metal wall hanger and a certificate marked with the year of production.
