Holy Trinity icon and the Hospitality of Abraham
This Holy Trinity icon follows the Eastern Christian type traditionally called the Hospitality of Abraham. Its biblical starting point is Genesis 18, where Abraham receives three mysterious visitors by the oak of Mamre. Christian tradition reads the scene in the light of faith in the one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The image does not attempt to portray the divine essence; it uses the three angelic visitors as a contemplative sign of divine communion.
Iconography and theological meaning
The three angels are seated around one table in a balanced, circular relationship. Their unity of gesture and dignity expresses communion without erasing distinction. The shared cup recalls hospitality and, in Christian interpretation, Christ's self-offering. The tree refers to Mamre and can also direct meditation toward the tree of life; the house recalls Abraham's dwelling and the welcome offered to the visitors. These elements belong to a theological visual language rather than a literal portrait of the Trinity.

The icon is suited to Trinity Sunday, prayer for unity, marriage and family devotion, and catechesis on one God in three Persons. It encourages hospitality, communion, and self-giving love while avoiding the idea of three separate gods.
