Description
This red satin chasuble is distinguished by a large linear cross embroidered in silver-colored thread. Fine horizontal bands define the upper and lower arms, while outlined vertical sections continue the motif along the center of the vestment. A roll / stand collar finishes the neckline, and a matching inner stole is included.
Linear cross embroidery
The decoration uses line rather than a solid ornamental panel. Parallel embroidered bands create the cross’s main accents, and the open sections allow the red satin to remain visible within the composition. This gives the Christian symbol a restrained, contemporary appearance while keeping it clear from the sanctuary. Nine photographs show the complete chasuble, the front and back, the collar, the embroidery, the satin surface and the way the vestment falls when worn.
Liturgical use
In the Roman liturgy, red is associated with the Passion of Christ, the fire of the Holy Spirit and the witness of martyrs. It is used for Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Pentecost and specified celebrations of apostles, evangelists and martyrs. The calendar and rubrics of the particular celebration should always determine the color. The cross motif supports this liturgical meaning without replacing those rules.
Choosing the chasuble
Compare the measurement in the final table with a chasuble that already fits comfortably in the sacristy. Consider how the roll collar sits over the alb, how the shoulder line falls and whether the celebrant can raise the arms freely. The full-length and worn views help assess the scale of the cross and the overall proportions before ordering.
Wearing and storage
Wear the chasuble over the alb and stole, arranging it symmetrically on the shoulders before entering the sanctuary. Smooth the embroidered sections and make sure the collar and central motif are not folded or compressed. After the celebration, allow the fabric to dry fully before placing the vestment on a broad hanger that supports the shoulders.
Store the chasuble in a dry, ventilated wardrobe, protected from strong light and moisture. Leave enough space so that other garments do not press against the embroidery. Follow the supplied care label for cleaning, ironing and refreshing; decorative threads should be protected from excessive heat and pressure.
