Description

A spread-winged dove surrounded by golden rays forms the principal motif of this red chasuble. Seven flames on the back continue the Holy Spirit theme, keeping the decoration meaningful when the celebrant faces the altar. The front and back therefore belong to one coordinated composition for liturgies associated with the Holy Spirit.

Embroidery and construction

The pale dove has detailed feathers and a radiant setting. Two vertical lines organize the front, and gold edging connects the decoration with the outline of the chasuble. The rhythmic arrangement of seven flames develops the design across the back. The smooth main fabric is 100% polyester, finished with a roll collar. The garment is supplied in a box with a transparent window.

Liturgical use

In the Roman liturgy, red is associated with the fire of the Holy Spirit, the blood of Christ and the witness of martyrs. It is used on Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Pentecost and specified celebrations of apostles, evangelists and martyrs. Follow the calendar and rubrics for the particular celebration. Color alone does not make every decorative motif equally suitable: consider the embroidery alongside the readings and character of the liturgy.

Choosing the chasuble

The dove, rays and flames make this model particularly relevant to Pentecost, Confirmation and other liturgies focusing on the Holy Spirit, where the prescribed vestment color permits. Compare the length in the final table with the celebrant’s usual chasuble. The gallery helps assess the shoulder line, side drape and fit of the roll collar.

Wearing and storage

Wear the chasuble over the alb and stole, arranging it symmetrically on the shoulders before entering the sanctuary. Check that the arms can be raised freely and that the central embroidery is not folded. After use, allow the fabric to dry fully before hanging it on a broad hanger that supports the shoulders.

Store the vestment in a dry, ventilated wardrobe, protected from strong light and moisture. Leave enough space to prevent other garments pressing against the embroidery and collar. Follow the supplied care label for cleaning, ironing and refreshing; decorative threads, edging and any velvet elements need particular care.
