Quick to Hear Mother of God icon

The title "Quick to Hear" refers to a revered Athonite icon kept at Dochiariou Monastery. Monastic tradition associates the name with an event in 1664 and with the assurance that the Mother of God hears those who turn to her in faith. The icon is commemorated on November 9 in the Orthodox calendar.

Mary points to Christ

This rendering shows the crowned Mother of God holding the Christ Child. Her right hand is raised toward him in the Hodegetria gesture, identifying Christ as the way and the source of mercy. The Child blesses with his right hand and holds a scroll in the other. The direct gaze creates a sober invitation to prayer rather than a sentimental scene.

For urgent and daily prayer

The icon is chosen for prayer in illness, family difficulty, travel, danger and decisions that require clarity. It fits a home icon corner, chapel, parish office or pastoral-care room, and can be given to someone beginning a new responsibility. The title expresses confidence in intercession, not a timetable or guarantee of miraculous intervention; practical help and medical care remain essential.

Crafted on linden wood in Poland

Art Christiana makes this icon in Poland on a carefully prepared linden wood board. The surface receives two primer coats, hand-applied metal leaf and a directly transferred image. A certificate and hanging fixture are fitted on the reverse, and the icon arrives in a protective presentation box.
