Description
Jesus welcomes a girl: the dignity of every child
The Gospels recount that people brought children to Jesus so that he might touch and bless them. When the disciples tried to turn them away, Christ welcomed the children and taught that the Kingdom of God must be received with their trust (Mark 10:13–16). The scene affirms that children belong close to Christ and are never peripheral to the life of the Church.
Iconography and theological meaning
Jesus sits beside a young girl who leans toward him with confidence. His cross-inscribed halo identifies him as the crucified and risen Lord, while his open hands communicate welcome, protection, and blessing. The steps and uncluttered setting keep attention on the quiet relationship between the Savior and the child.
For prayer and Christian devotion
Particularly meaningful for a daughter’s room, nursery, school, catechetical space, or family prayer corner, this image invites prayer for a child’s safety, faith, healing, and growth in the knowledge that she is known and loved by Christ.
Crafted on linden wood in Poland
The image is printed directly onto a double-primed linden wood panel and finished with decorative gold leaf. Each made-to-order piece is produced in Poland, includes a certificate with the year of production, and has a hanger on the back. Natural wood, a luminous gold field, and precise contemporary drawing create sacred art suited to a home prayer corner, chapel, rectory, or a carefully chosen Catholic gift.
