Description
Saint Robert of Salzburg: bishop and missionary
Saint Robert of Salzburg is associated with the early Christian communities of Salzburg and the foundations of St. Peter's Abbey and Nonnberg. His mission belongs to the period around the turn of the eighth century. The monastic centers linked to his work remain part of Salzburg's religious history.
Episcopal vestments and the book
The bearded figure wears green vestments with a white band marked by crosses. One hand is raised in blessing; the other holds a red book with a decorated cover. These attributes present the bishop's roles of teaching and pastoral service. A circular halo separates the head from the gold-tone background. The icon can be displayed in a prayer corner, parish room, or clergy study.
Made in Poland on linden wood
Art Christiana makes this icon to order on a linden-wood board with two coats of primer. The image is printed directly onto the prepared surface and finished with decorative gold-tone metal leaf (schlagmetal). A certificate bearing the production year and a hanging fixture are attached to the back.
