Description

Saint María Carmen Rendiles Martínez, founder of the Servants of Jesus

Saint María Carmen Rendiles Martínez (1903-1977) was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Her religious vocation developed around devotion to the Eucharist and service within the Church, with particular attention to priests, the poor and the sick.

In 1965 she founded the Venezuelan congregation of the Servants of Jesus, preserving the religious charism of her community. The sisters served in parishes and schools as well as among those in need. Pope Leo XIV canonized her on October 19, 2025.

The icon is a close portrait in a blue religious habit and white veil, with a medallion at the chest. The halo and gold-tone background frame her face. The simple arrangement directs attention to her identity as a religious founder rather than to a narrative scene.

Made in Poland on linden wood

Art Christiana makes this icon to order on a linden-wood board with two coats of primer. The image is printed directly onto the prepared surface and finished with decorative gold-tone metal leaf (schlagmetal). A certificate bearing the production year and a hanging fixture are attached to the back.

An appropriate image for a religious community, a parish prayer space or a family with Venezuelan roots. It offers a focus for reflection on Eucharistic devotion expressed through steady ecclesial service.
