Saint Maia with a cross and roses
Saint Maia is shown holding a small cross and a woven basket filled with red roses. A pale veil covers her head and shoulders, while a red mantle falls over a dark green garment. The inscription names the figure, and a circular halo frames her face against the gold-tone background.
The half-length composition gives particular prominence to the hands, cross, and flowers. The roses are depicted individually, with green foliage above the woven basket. This wooden religious image can be hung in a home prayer corner or given to someone named Maia.
