Saint John the Evangelist: apostle, witness, and theologian
Saint John was one of the Twelve Apostles and, in Christian tradition, the beloved disciple who remained near the Cross and received Mary into his care. The Church associates him with the Fourth Gospel, the Johannine letters, and Revelation. These writings contemplate Christ as the eternal Word made flesh and return repeatedly to truth, testimony, sacramental life, and the commandment of love.
