Saint Anastasia is shown frontally against a gold field, wearing a red mantle and holding a small medicine vessel. These attributes identify the fourth-century Great Martyr known in the Eastern Christian tradition as Anastasia Pharmakolytria, a title often rendered as Deliverer from Potions. The vessel is not a decorative accessory: it refers to the medicines she carried to imprisoned and wounded Christians.
Church tradition remembers Anastasia for visiting prisoners during the persecutions and caring for their wounds before she suffered martyrdom herself. Her feast is kept on December 22. In this icon, the calm gaze and halo express steadfast Christian witness, while the medicine flask connects charity with practical care.
