Our Lady of Glory is a devotional title rather than one universally fixed historical icon type. This composition belongs to the frontal tradition of the Mother of God presenting Christ to the faithful. Christian art has often described Mary as the living throne or Seat of Wisdom because she carried the incarnate Word and holds him before the world. The Christ Child seated with open arms
Mary faces the viewer directly in a blue mantle over a red garment, supporting the Child at the center of her lap. Jesus wears a white tunic and golden-orange drapery and extends both arms outward in a gesture of welcome and revelation. Mary's hands secure him without obscuring his frontal presence. Gold halos, Greek abbreviations, and the luminous field identify Mother and Son. Small star-like ornaments on the mantle reinforce the solemn, celestial character without defining a separate apparition.
