Description
Holy Family of Kalisz icon and the two Trinities
The Holy Family of Kalisz is associated with the National Shrine of Saint Joseph in Kalisz, Poland, one of the country's most important centers of devotion to Saint Joseph. The historic sanctuary image presents Jesus walking between Mary and Joseph, with God the Father and the Holy Spirit above. The original painting was honored with papal crowns in 1796. This piece is a contemporary reproduction of that devotional composition, not the historic sanctuary image.
The earthly family beneath the heavenly Trinity
Mary and Joseph hold the hands of the young Jesus as they walk together. Above them, God the Father appears in the clouds and the Holy Spirit is shown as a dove surrounded by light. The arrangement is often described as the two Trinities: the Holy Family on earth and the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in heaven. The image places Christ at the center of family life and presents Joseph as a guardian who serves rather than dominates.
For families, spouses and fathers
The icon may accompany prayer for marriages, parents, children and those who care for family members. It is suitable for a home prayer corner, chapel, parish family ministry or a room dedicated to counseling and formation. It can be offered for a wedding, anniversary, Father's Day or house blessing. Devotion invites faithful responsibility and prayer; ownership of an image does not guarantee harmony or protection.
Crafted on linden wood in Poland
Art Christiana makes this icon in Poland on a carefully prepared linden wood board. The surface receives two primer coats, hand-applied metal leaf and a directly transferred image. A certificate and hanging fixture are fitted on the reverse, and the icon arrives in a protective presentation box.
