Description
Guardian Angel with children near a cliff
A winged Guardian Angel stands behind two children at the edge of a rocky bank above water. The girl wears blue, the boy holds a hoop, and a red-and-white ball lies near their feet. The angel's outstretched hands connect the figure with the children in this scene of watchful care.
This is a devotional scene, not an illustration of a named event in the Bible. Catholic teaching describes angels as spiritual creatures who serve God; the Catechism, paragraph 336, speaks of their care and intercession throughout human life. Wings make that spiritual presence visible in the language of religious art.
Made in Poland on linden wood
Art Christiana makes this icon to order on a linden-wood board with two coats of primer. The image is printed directly onto the prepared surface and finished with decorative gold-tone metal leaf (schlagmetal). A certificate bearing the production year and a hanging fixture are attached to the back.
The image can be placed in a family prayer corner or given for Baptism. Parents and godparents can use its everyday details to introduce the Guardian Angel prayer and talk with children about care for one another.
