Jesus Christ and the Eucharist
Jesus Christ appears with a chalice, bread and a radiant Host bearing the letters IHS. The motif recalls the institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper, when Jesus gave his disciples bread and wine as his Body and Blood (Luke 22:19-20). This is a devotional composition, not a scene showing the apostles gathered at the table.
Christ wears a red tunic and blue mantle, raises one hand in blessing and holds bread in the other. The chalice stands on the table beneath the Host; a cross is inscribed in his halo. These visible elements focus attention on the Eucharist rather than on a separate historical episode.
Made in Poland on linden wood
Art Christiana makes this icon to order on a linden-wood board with two coats of primer. The image is printed directly onto the prepared surface and finished with decorative gold-tone metal leaf (schlagmetal). A certificate bearing the production year and a hanging fixture are attached to the back.
