Blessed Honorat Koźmiński: Capuchin priest and spiritual guide
Blessed Honorat Koźmiński (1829-1916) was a Polish Capuchin priest whose ministry centered on confession and spiritual direction. Restrictions on religious life under Russian rule led him to support communities whose members served in everyday society without wearing a religious habit. His work helped sustain religious vocations when public forms of community life were limited.
The icon shows Honorat with a gray beard, in a brown hooded habit, holding a plain cross. His other hand has one finger raised. The Polish inscription identifies him; the halo marks the portrait as a Catholic devotional image. The cross and Capuchin clothing connect the representation with his Franciscan vocation.
