Who was Fulton Sheen?
Sheen (1895-1979) was an American Catholic bishop, writer and broadcaster. He taught at the Catholic University of America, served as an auxiliary bishop of New York and later led the Diocese of Rochester. His television program Life Is Worth Living brought questions of faith and moral responsibility to a broad audience.
He was beatified on September 24, 2026. The title Blessed refers to beatification and is distinct from canonization as a saint.
