Description
Antique Gold Chasuble with an Embroidered Satin Panel
A richly embroidered satin panel runs through the center of this antique gold brocade chasuble. The satin provides the setting for the embroidery, while the lightweight brocade and gold edging complete the garment. Its organized vertical decoration is intended to remain clear across the full vestment, including when seen from farther away in the church.
Gold for solemn celebrations
The gold color and decorative panel give the vestment a festive character. Its use should be considered in relation to the liturgical calendar, the celebration and the practice of the local community. Gold is associated with especially solemn occasions, including major Christmas and Easter celebrations where the applicable liturgical norms permit its use. Choose the vestment for the actual service rather than treating color alone as a guide to every occasion.
Fabric and decoration
The chasuble is made from lightweight polyester brocade, with the embroidery worked on a satin panel. The panel provides a different surface from the surrounding brocade and creates the central line of the design. Gold brocade edging completes the sides. Look at the product image for the arrangement of the stitches and the boundary between the satin and the main fabric, as well as the overall proportions of the ornament.
Fit, collar and included stole
The roll collar forms the neckline and should sit freely over the alb. Before ordering, compare the length and width in the specification table with a chasuble that fits the celebrant well. Consider shoulder position and the way the sides hang, as well as the wearer’s height. An inner stole is supplied with the garment for wear beneath it, allowing the chasuble and stole to be selected together.
Care and storage
After the celebration, let the garment dry and air before returning it to storage. Use a wide hanger to support the shoulders and leave space between vestments, protecting the decoration from rubbing, snagging and prolonged pressure. Avoid sharp folds across the ornament and keep the fabric away from persistent dampness and strong direct light. Follow the supplied care label for cleaning and ironing; do not select a temperature or chemical treatment solely from the appearance of the fabric.
