This beautiful sacred image was created on an alder board using a special serigraphy technique, which provides the icon with a unique color and optimal durability. Finished by hand gilding and varnished. On its back there is an embossed and gilded certificate of authenticity.
St. Roch was worshiped in Poland as early as the 15th century, along with St. Sebastian, and became the patron saint of protection from the plague.
Fraternities in his name were founded in Venice and Rome at that time. In Rome, Pope Alexander VI erected a church in his honor, Pope Pius IV founded a hospital, giving it to the brotherhood of St. Roch.
Pope Pius IX proclaimed St. Roch the patron saint of Montpellier. In 1585 Pope Gregory XIII placed his name in the Roman Martyrology. The rochici religious family arose. Many cities are named after the saint. Thousands of churches and chapels were built in his honor.
Saint Roch is the patron saint of Montpellier, Parma, Venice, apothecaries, doctors, gardeners, farmers and hospitals, and pavers and prisoners.

Icons are individually adjusted to the size and type of board on which they are made. Within a given pattern, there may be slight differences in its size (+/- 2 mm).
