Saint Rita of Cascia religious image
Description
Saint Rita of Cascia religious image
A reproduction of the painting of Saint Rita of Cascia, printed on high quality paper, and glued with plywood. Framed in one of the few available frames. This image is characterized by exceptional color saturation.
Saint Rita is also described as a mystic. During her religious life, she received one stigma of Jesus' suffering - an open wound on her forehead after a thorn from the crown. She had it for fifteen years, and in memory of this, a tradition arose after her death to celebrate fifteen Thursdays of St. Rita. The wound on her forehead smelled horrible and the nun could not leave her cell. But apparently once when Rita wanted to go on a pilgrimage to Rome, the wound started to smell like roses.
